Backups & Disaster Recovery
Good hardware and fault tolerance help to protect your business data against equipment failures, but not against theft, damage or disasters. If you lose your data to fire or flooding, or if you are the vistim of theft, you don't want all your eggs to be in one basket... not when that basket breaks or goes missing!

Backing up your data is a critical business function, it's simply not acceptable to fail to do it. Simply making a copy to a backup disk in the office isn't enough, you need to get it out of the building. Every day. And it should be automated, because it's a tedious and annoying thing to remember to make and take the copy with you when you leave every day. Not only do tedious tasks tend to be avoided, but they also tend to be done carelessly and go long periods without testing and verification.

I provide automated offsite backups, archiving, and disaster recovery services. Your data is transferred encrypted over your internet connection to my secure backup server nightly, and I monitor the backup status every day for errors. I can also provide no-delete cumulative backups, which means even if you delete a file accidentally and don't notice right away, the backup copy remains. More than that, I can provide version-control backups, which mean I can restore any file to what it contained on a particular day. Imagine accidentally deleting part of a document or saving a new file over an old one and not realizing what happened for a month (or year!) and still be able to retrieve the original.
